從獨食的AA制看麻煩的社交潛規則

美國人慣常AA 制,不單只是把帳單攤分,更是只吃自己點的,甚少分享。

在香港,我們和朋友吃飯,通常會點不同的東西一起吃;但是,美國人很少和同桌的朋友分享食物。例如,甲和乙都最想吃牛扒,但也想試試烤雞,在香港,很自然就會點牛扒和烤雞分甘同味;但在美國,就會點了兩份牛扒各有各吃。

在紐約工作時,最深刻一次是公司team building後,和一班同事到日本餐廳吃壽司。由於公司負責找數,所以大家都沒想過要省錢。打開餐牌,見到盡是California roll, Boston roll, Philadelphia roll, etc. 最便宜的也要13美元一份,最貴的好像還要25美元。從價錢看,估計叫一份應該飽。
